Information is Power
“When Mr. P.K. Howard enrolled in WHA’s ten-week Introduction to Computers class, he had one goal -- to help his son build his construction business. Having recently retired, Mr. Howard had little experience with computers. “I didn’t even know how to turn it on,” says Mr. Howard, “now I’ve used my new computer to get on the internet and email.”
Many students who enroll in
WHA's Technology Center have never taken a computer class.
They come with the desire to learn a new skill, find
employment, start a business, or learn to access and use the
Internet. They leave with the knowledge that information is
power.
WHA’s Technology
Center provides classes in
Introduction to Computers,
Microsoft Office Suites, and Advanced
Microsoft Word and Excel Training and Certification.
The Center has 16 workstations and serves community
residents, business owners and youth. Classes are held
Monday through Thursday, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., 3:00
p.m. – 5:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The Center is
open to the public, Monday – Friday, during non-class hours
for such uses as job search,
resume writing, student homework assignments, job
applications, and various other personal uses. For
