Letter from the Chair

On behalf of the WHA Board of Directors, I welcome you to this year's annual report. 2008 has been a year of dynamic change for our nation and marks the beginning of a new era of challenges. The community building programs and empowering services facilitated by WHA are more important than ever before.

WHA, under the leadership of Jacqueline Reed, has developed a focused and driven team who are committed to using the capacity of local people to improve the health and well-being of the Westside residents. This mission reminds us of our purpose in this effort and provides a goal to strive for. Whether it is healthy lifestyles, programs for youth, employment services, ex-offender services, community development or technology training, WHA has continues to provide leadership within the Austin community.

Thank you for your commitment and support.

Sincerely,
Bashir Muhammad
Board Chairman
